WET NEW YEAR'S EVE

As of 4p today, tropical disturbance Alert somewhat reposition itself further to the southeast part of mindanao based on latest vortices image. However, rain expected to continue for most part of the country mostly over Southern Luzon to Mindanao as L3-5 convection still passing over the area due to broad monsoon trough over the area (see latest images at left). Expected rain rate will be at maximum of 24mm/hr over L4-5 convection. Winds will at 15-25kts over Luzon and Visayas from NE becoming 5-10kts changeable over Mindanao.

The said disturbance expected still be monitored for the next 24hrs as low to moderate shear continues to somewhat affects its intensification. Upper divergence weakens for the past 12 hrs over the area maintaining its 1010mb SLP.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!
